Best of British 2014

It's been a rather busy week in the British fashion calendar, probably the busiest of the year. The latter end of last week saw the beginning of London's biannual fashion week, Sunday was the night of the BAFTAs, Tuesday saw the Elle style awards and finally Wednesday was the night of the BRIT awards. Phew. Here are my favourite red carpet looks from the past week...

The BAFTA red carpet was a colourful affair. From tangerine to emerald to sapphire, a rich array of colours, and an unexpected tux, were worn on Sunday night...

Olga Kurylenko in Burberry
Léa Seydoux in Miu Miu
Angelina Jolie in Saint Laurent and Brad Pitt in Valentino
Lupita Nyong'o in Dior
Lily Allen in Vivienne Westwood

The Elle Style Awards

The Elle Style Awards was by far my favourite red carpet event of the past week. Many guests opted for a classic LBD, but these were by no means 'safe' or 'expected' choices...

Suki Waterhouse in Burberry
Amber Le Bon in Warehouse and Jimmy Choo
Olga Kurylenko in Isabel Marant
Felicity Jones in Christopher Kane
Emma Watson in Giambattista Valli

I learnt two things from the BRITs; the first that James Corden makes a better actor than he does an award show host; the second, that so long as you stick to primary colours and sequins you'll fit in on the red carpet...

Rita Ora in Prada
Lilly Allen in William Vintage
Beyoncé in Vrettos Vrettakos
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Yves Saint Laurent
Ella Eyre in Dolce and Gabbana

What was your favourite look from this past week?

  1. Suki Waterhouse looks amazing! She's got the certain something.

  2. Ahhh I love Lily Allen (especially in that first dress). I'm obsessed with her newest song, I'm so glad she's making a new album, it's been too long! Her talent has been missed (I know she doesn't have the best voice but her songs are so catchy and witty). And I also love Emma Watson's dress- she's always so classy and stylish- I have a lot of respect for her. :)

  3. Lily Allen always knows how to be in something interesting. I'm not sure though what was up with Emma Watson's skirt? I liked Felicity Jones' outfit.

  4. Definitely, some stunning outfits! Love the post!
